144 Days and Counting

I am part of a team of eleven architecture students determined to design and build a home for a low-income family. This will become the third home to be designed and built by students of the Louisiana Tech University School of Architecture. The project began in the fall quarter of 2007 and is scheduled to be completed in the spring quarter of 2008. This will not be an easy task for eleven students to accomplish, so we have partnered with Habitat for Humanity and we are also seeking as many volunteers and donors as possible to help us complete this project. We have recently completed a set of drawings for the house and submitted them to the building inspector. We have also begun to prepare the site for construction . I really look forward to starting the first phase of construction.
